"dont what women hanging out in the maternity ward" hell no they don't. They dont want to be there either after a few hours of labor. And everyone wants them home with baby.
Pitocin: yes, it will cause you to birth. Want to wait around, contracting for who knows how long, risk infection, or have a baby?
"everwhere else in the world"..yep, like third world countries. They also don't eat a lot and don't get prenatal care. Guess we should do that too.
C-section not doctor friendly IMO. Higher risk than vaginal. And if something happens, and the C/S was not indicated...guess who's f'd in the b.
took away the power of birth? Sure go have one by yourself..but don't forget emergency help will be 30 minutes away if the doo doo hits the fan. You can bleed out pretty fast. Labor will be longer. No epidural. Sounds like fun.
I love how the trailer makes it seem like docs just screw it up and rush it to make a buck, but I bet it doesnt mention what happens when you get a midwife who ignores pre-eclampsia, mother never goes to hospital, ends up eclamptic, seizing, coming to OBER, then mom and baby die cause its too late. Which really happened btw.

"havent seen the movie..but what a load."
Damn, that's a pretty quick way to say, "Hey, I'm ignorant and will criticize something without knowing what I'm talking about."
The numbers don't lie: The USA has the second worst newborn death rate in the developed world.
""everwhere else in the world"..yep, like third world countries."
More like, most of Europe and the rest of the industrialized world.
"C-section not doctor friendly IMO. Higher risk than vaginal."
"Doctor friendly" = quick, not safe...but then again, you haven't seen the movie, duh.
"I bet it doesn't mention what happens when you get a midwife who ignores pre-eclampsia, mother never goes to hospital"
Well, if you weren't an idiot talking about a movie you've never seen, you'd know that the director of said movie wanted a home birth, but had a premature birth and ended up delivering in a hospital (thanks to the skilled assessment and actions of a great mid wife, I might add) and everything turned out great.
So basically, you should STFU about your idiot commentary if you haven't seen what you're spouting off about. Or, maybe I'm not being fair... Maybe your anti-home birth diatribe is just a result of your on mom dropping you on your head at the hospital. I shouldn't be so harsh on the mentally handicapped. I apologize, Simple Jack.

Yep, seen it and thought it was good, albeit of course with a very specific point of view.
I don't understand why we are talking about installing this thing in your home when it's obviously being marketed to hospitals. Homebirthers have birthing tubs that they can rent, or I guess buy, but it probably doesn't pay unless you are planning on having 10 babies in it before you're done!

BTW, Very true about the application of this specific device. I can't imagine someone personally buying this unless they were a hard core breeder. :)
