    Hughes movies truely represented the generation. Spoke to so many in the 80's. I've always wondered back then how he was able to get inside the mind of a teenager when he was much older. If you asked me state the ethos of teens today I would have to say that I have no clue.

    Weird Science was the first movie I ever saw on our first VHS. Must have watched that movie 30 times before we had to return it!

    I posted elsewhere but this hits close to home for me, I grew up on his movies.. Ferris was my hero :) and our car was just filmed in the famous garage from Ferris. The owners lived in the house since it was built Mr Rose died a couple years ago and Mrs Rose died just a few months ago. the real estate people wanted to borrow our car ... to remind us all of the movie.. so now the Roses are gone and so is Mr Hughes and countless other people who were part of my childhood and I'm feeling a little less immortal :(
    if anyone is interested in seeing the house (and our car with me driving it into the famous garage) there's like a 2 minute video that was on NBC last sunday here... garage and car about halfway through.. They also covered it on the Today show maybe a month ago.. should be able to find that just googling "today show" +ferris

    I once had dreams of starting a band called "John Hughes Must Die". Not that I actually had anything against the man, it just seemed to roll off the tounge. The alternative was "Hootie and the Blowfish".

    I tried to duplicate the "Weird Science" scenario, and I ended up creating a duplicate of Tara Reid.
    I must have skipped a step, or accidentally spilled booze on the keyboard...
