@Russell Lynn: If you're willing to shell out the cash for a Playon license, I'm pretty sure you can run Hulu through your Wii with Playon. I'm going to investigate the free trial download to see how it does on streaming Netflix. You could try some Hulu with it.
There is one good reason why I like having the browser on my Wii: it's the only browser connected to a full-sized flat screen TV in my apartment. In other words, not a teeny laptop screen. With the new Playon app for Wii, you're supposed to be able to stream Netflix. Sure, you have to pay for Playon, but hey, one time only and I can stream Netflix. Worth it to me.
@Nintenboy01: Looks like the Opera 10 update to Wii (issued today) includes Flash Lite 3.1 which will allow Wii to display anything in regular flavor Flash 8 or below. Playon seems to support even higher Flash, but not terribly relevant if you're limited to Flash 8 by the Wii. Regardless, it's my only big screen for streaming Netflix, so I'll take what I can get. Even the RAM problems. And the weird stretchy picture that I keep seeing discussed. Obviously, I haven't tried it yet, but there's a free trial download I sure intend to try playing with tonight!
