@Jrsy is the dude, playing the dude, disguised as another dude:
@tegronin:
What in the world is wrong with you guys?
Good luck pirating Win7... Pay up or stay out!.
7 hrs and 10 restarts???? Get better hardware do not complain.
My Vista SP1 took 1 reboot. And that's on an 8 yr old P4-2Ghz PC. Yes!, it runs just as fine. I've been running Vista for 2 years, can't complain but for a couple of drivers (sound & modem) the mfg's did not update for 2 months so I realied on MS default drivers with reduced functionality.
Everything has worked fine with ZERO problems from day one.
My 8 yr old PC will become a MS Home server next year and continue working for years to come.
I can only think that the people that had problems with Vista were either, obtuse, MS haters, trolls or just had the worst hardware on the face of the planet.

What's wrong with me? Buddy you don't have enough time and I don't have enough patience to start that conversation so let's say we just call it a draw and retire to our respective corners, m'kay?
Besides I wasn't the one advocating pirating Win7.
Oh yeah and I didn't get Vista because WinXP Pro/Ubuntu/Tiger are all working just fine for me on their respective computers. It's not that I'm down on Vista, I simply didn't feel any need to upgrade at this time.

XP was just an update to the previous versions. Windows 95 was a revolution.

Win2k was really just rather meh, XP was a good jump forward. 95 was a huge leap from Win3.1 though.

Don't get me wrong -- Windows 7 sounds good. However, comparing it to Vista is a bit like an American automaker comparing their new model to a K-car.

As an IT back then, Win2k was a godsend especially with integrated Active Directory support, better drivers (anyone remember plugging in a USB device on a 95/98 machine?), large file support, etc.
As far as 95 was a leapfrom from Win3.1, I agree it was a big change. But if anyone remembers OS/2... well, I guess nobody doesn't because I'm just an "early adopter".
