But I do remember we used to have some kick ass games for it. I remember paying $50 for some game that today a 3 year old in India could make between bottle feedings.

It was a DOS card, it had an 8088 or 8086 CPU, video card, floppy controller, memory, etc. Essentially it was a full IBM PC XT on a card that you put into an Apple IIe.
Everything with the Apple II series was incompatible with the IBM PC at that time, even the floppies.
