@u_nick: Don't quote me on this, but I'd imagine that there is no "family" pack for professional, because you're either a family, or you're a professional. If you have a bunch of professionals, you'd probably buy the enterprise license
If 3-pack multi-user version of Win7 Pro will cost this good, then god damn it I'm pre-ordering it.... if at all they will have the same thing up for pre-order.
wait, ultimate for $99??? How do I get that deal? My head is spinning. I know you said upgrade, does that count for xp? I'm sorry, I should research or just wait... but man, I have to use windows for AutoDesk programs, so I really really really can't wait for windows seven!
Anyone know what kind of licenses are in the family pack? Are they OEM or retail? I mean, can I move them from computer to computer? Is that the preorder price? I assume if that's the final price, they must be OEM style licenses.
So basically the pre-sale half off deals were to see how many of us would bite? Was this price point testing? Either way it seems like a win win for all involved.
@Cordfucious of Tech Clan: So, I can upgrade 3 machines for $137? Or $99? Or?? Theoretically maybe?
Yet, I could upgrade 5 macs for $50?
Still seems a bit steep for what really mostly Vista SP3 with some additional features thrown on top of it. But, I'll still end up paying for it anyway I'm sure.
@Cordfucious of Tech Clan: It was probably going to be temporary until Apple announced the price for Snow Leopard ($29 upg, $129 full). I'm glad Microsoft is getting sensible with the cost of Windows. There are far more PCs out there than Macs, it shouldn't cost $400 to upgrade each one.
Chen, were you eating trail mix while you wrote this? The M&M's add too much sweetness when there's a lot of dried fruit in there, and really, if I wanted M&M's, I could get a kerflurgin' bag of M&M's. You guys are pushing it with the gum drop things and the extra sugar coating. Leave the candy-coated chocolates where they belong.

I am however left not disappointed by this pricing. Is good pricing. Very reasonable.

But, if it is true then it's a good step in the right direction by Microsoft for atoning for blasphemy of a product that Vista is.
(This message is being happily typed on a machine running Win7 RC1)
