    ugh, why oh why wont skype do an iphone release. very annoying, there are other service based skype apps in the appstore like fring and nimbuzz.

    very very annoying.

    they also havnt updated their mac client in quite some time

    @myneid: As I replied in a thread above, Fring is the current workaround to get Skype on the iPhone/iPod.

    @myneid: I'm a jerk for not reading properly, as I see now that you mentioned Fring, so fail for me. But I've been checking the Skype forums and it seems that they may actually be making a Skype app. It'd be nice if they did, but I think that with regards to the iPod touch, there may be a reason it might not work. Can't verify until I get the headpiece for it later on.

    As an iphone user, I and quite jealous of this. a voip version of Skype will certainly never come the app store. :(

    @orionburcham: Of course not. AT&T would condemn it and Apple would'nt entertain it.
    I'm going overseas tomorrow. AT&T is charging me $5.99/mo for international roaming + $1.99/min. (without IR it's $2.29/min)
    (Under Cingular it used to cost $4.99/mo IR + 99¢/min.)


    Get's better still... Voice mails cost $1.99/min the moment they start leaving you a message (BEFORE you even to answer it) + $1.99/min to LISTEN TO IT!!!!
    So a wrong-number/wrong-caller leaves you a message it cost me $4 ????


    Boy, it's my phone going to be OFF or what???
    I'll Skypeout the sh*t out of it at 2¢/min from my laptop!

    with the brief look at windows 7 if windows mobile takes some hints it could make a good run at the mobile OS market... since the best current OS is locked to one phone... and most likely apple will keep it that way...

    @purple-pillows: Safari mobile is pretty good, the rest of the iPhone OS is garbage. I'd prefer WM6.1 any day of the week.
