When I used to scan packages for various nasties, I used to get some funny things delivered to our building. Most were not allowed, and things like cell phones, female marital aids, electronics, etc... used to raise the alert, and cause us to examine the packages.
As for how these picts were taken, our machine actually had a Zip drive, and you could save image caps from the screen and view them on a computer.
Sweet! I'm all too familiar with the "Giraffe" at Dayton Children's. As were my boys. It sorta helps the parents too, when the machine that they are pointing at your child doesn't look so threatening.
@Valefor: Indeed. My childhood hospital always had toys on top of the shelves so that the children were always distracted while they inserted a long and sharp metallic foreign body into their flesh while injecting chemical fluids into their veins.
