Fans of classic speedboats can now reenact one of the most exiting races ever in their backyard pool with the remote controlled Ferrari Arno XI Hydroplane. The boat is a 1:10 replica of the Arno XI, which zoomed to a 1953 record-shattering 150.49mph. It's almost 3 feet in length, weighs 16 pounds and can be controlled from up to 500 feet away for 30 minutes per two-hour charge. The price for playing with the dreamboat of the 1950s is $2000. Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 Runs Windows Mobile 6.1

The chaps over at Terminal.hu have just managed to get hold of some exclusive Xperia X1 images. The new pictures show the device will be running the yet-to-be-announced Windows Mobile 6.1 OS, and that explains why we weren't allowed a thorough hands-on at Mobile World Congress 2008. That may not be a shocker, but the other tidbits of information we have gathered are rather interesting.

Besides what we knew before, we can now tell the Xperia X1 will have a Qualcomm 7200A CPU running at 528 MHz, 128MB RAM and a nice 'n' juicy, 1500 mAh battery. Sure, we were not overwhelmed with our first gimped hands-on, but on paper it looks like this sure is one beast. The 528 MHz processor has us excited, but with it being Windows Mobile, we'll be surprised if the onboard RAM doesn't prove itself to be insufficient for heavy multitasking. Sony, Fujistu, Acer Penryn Laptops Leaked

We've been harping on about Penryn processors for a while, but a few more models have just leaked:

•Acer will be adding to their Aspire line with five new models (2920, 4920, 5920, 7720 and 9920). Their Travelmate line will also gain two new machines (6492 and 6592G.)

•Fujitsu-Siemens will join the parade with the Amilo Xi 2550 / 2428

•Sony will have a piece of the Penryn pie with five new VAIO lappies (FZ31, TZ2, SZ71, CR31 and AR61.)

Star Trek XI: Portrait of the Officers as Young Men

There's another Star Trek movie on the way, and this one's a prequel that will fill in backstory on Kirk and Spock as younger men. The latest addition to the $1 billion+ franchise will be Star Trek XI, and will be helmed by ace director J.J. Abrams of Mission Impossible III fame.

The screenplay will be written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, neither of whom have written a Star Trek screenplay before. The burning question: Who will play Kirk and Spock? Expect to see the movie in theaters by November, 2008.

Question for Trekkie experts: How will the tech in this new movie be different from the original Star Trek series? Somewhere between Enterprise and Star Trek? Discuss. – Charlie White
