This latest effort modifies actual Apple Bluetooth keyboards, and adds app icons to the keys.

The F-keys have stenciled icons for the standard iPhone tasks (Mail, Safari, etc), and the keyboard letters have logos for some of the most popular iPhone apps. It actually doesn't look too bad, but there's no way to customize the icons. I've never used LinkedIn, so it would seem pointless blazoned all over my L key.

XSKN says that it's currently working with a U.S. engineering firm that specializes in "Made for iPod" stamps. Of course, it's also waiting on that pending Bluetooth driver—as are rivals like the $100 MacAlly BTKeyMini.

What's interesting, though, is XSKN's hopes to sell the iKeyboard by the end of this year for $160. Are they just being optimistic? (And I'm not just talking about that price). Do they know something we don't?

As a backgrounder: You may know XSKN for its keyboard skins and iPhone case leaks (one of which was on the money, while others were definitely not). So make what you will of their ambitions.

Either way, what the hell Apple? There are a bunch of fold up/roll up Bluetooth keyboards for other smartphones, and they can come in pretty handy for meetings and traveling. Sure, I could use my laptop in many situations, but is Apple the only one to not even give me a choice?

<![CDATA[iPhone Nano Case Product Page, Product Pics Shown Off By XSKN]]> XSKN has gone beyond the previous iPhone Nano case leak to making an entire product page littered with different colors of the supposedly soon-to-come iPhone Nano.

There's not a whole lot to get from these photos other than the fact that the iPhone Nano looks shorter and fatter than the 3G (kinda like the previous generation fat iPod nano), but it still has all the proper holes. Of course, all this is assuming that XSKN has correct information. It did, earlier in the year, with the iPhone 3G, so they have some kind of track record on their side.

And just as a curiosity, here's a render of what someone thinks the iPhone Nano may look like. [Macrumors]

<![CDATA[Did XSKN Leak the New iPhone, Again? (We Doubt It)]]> Before the iPhone 3G was released, a Chinese case manufacturer named XSKN showed a case with a curved back that ended up resembling the iPhone 3G. Now, XSKN has leaked their iPhone nano case. Real?

iDeals China claims that it is, and offers plenty of specs to back it up. They say that the new iPhone nano will be the same height as the current iPod nano and include "3 sensors, camera, [and a] mirror screen but no 3G." They also say that production of the iPhone nano will begin on December 20th, when we can expect to see all sorts of shots on the web.

Of course, there are a slew of reasons why these claims could be completely nuts. For one, it actually seems less likely for the manufacturer that leaked the last iPhone to leak the next iPhone. Does Apple really need third party cases ready at launch so badly that they're willing to forgo any level of secrecy and hand over device mockups (along with full specs?) to a company that historically cannot be trusted? No way. A factory-to-factory dialogue is all we could imagine.

And then there's the absurdity of the iPhone nano itself. On one hand, it could be an entry-level iPhone that allows Apple to corner the same market they did with their original nano (and shuffle, for that matter). But on the other, an iPhone nano would be comically small—almost like holding a Bluetooth headset to your face.

Needless to say, the entire Giz staff is highly skeptical of such a rumor—most of us don't believe it. But we wanted you to know what's going on in the world of iPhone rumors leading up to Macworld next month. Consider yourself armed and geek-dangerous. [idealschina via PMPToday]

<![CDATA[XSKN Keyboard Skin for Photoshop Users]]> If your photoshop skills suck as bad as ours does—queen of poop anyone?—this keyboard skin for Apple laptops may just be the thing for you. The XSKN is just a silicone keyboard skin with the appropriate Photoshop shortcut keys silk screened onto the surface. This way you can just look down at your keyboard to remember which key does what.

These skins are only for MacBooks and desktop keyboards for now, but we'll let you know if they make more styles.

Update: From what we hear, this company's a bit shady. Buyer beware.
