Did they say how long it took for the list to come together? I remember awhile back I got a funny looking email saying that somebody had tried to hack my gmail account and I needed to change my password. It gave a convincing link, but I changed it from my account settings manually and totally deleted the email.
The email I got was pretty convincing, it really looked like it may have come from Google. I just changed it and watched my account closely for a while afterward.
@bagellord: Just assume that any official email won't have a link to do anything. It'll just tell you what to do, and let you do it yourself ("manually" if you will)
That is why I only send communications with a pen and paper since this information superhighway stuff is just too trixy. Don't be a geek - toss that computer into your bathtub and set your spirit free!
Or, sure - use different passwords for each site, change them regularly, and don't fall for emails with bad grammar with a link asking you to adjust your Gmail password that connects you to an IP address in Guatemala.
Tossing the computer in the bathtub is more fun, though.

The rest of the blogs seem to be content on letting Microsoft take the brunt of the bad publicity.
