    Very awesome video!
And yeah, just confirming what people said, the guy didn't just pull all this with $300 alone... he has a post production studio in Uruguay.
$300 bucks for the LIVE SHOOTING alone and an year in production.
    Here, the details:

Impressive effects for the budget, but utterly lame build up and progression of scenes.

Seeing the same damn planes flying overhead over and over, and then the same old battles you see in any poorly thought out flight battle. Planes that are way too small flying between buildings and making ridiculous turns.

Aliens that need to slowly walk four massive robots into a city just to nuke it? What?

I'm not saying they didn't do something cool or impressive, but I am regularly amazed at how uncreative/poor writing and direction is in stories like these.

@Hyruu: So I'm not allowed to comment on politics if I'm not a politician? I'm not allowed to have an opinion about movies without being a director?

First off, I have made CG animations before, so I know the time and effort that goes into one. Second, whether or not I can make effects as good as that (and I did compliment the effects), it doesn't change the fact that the story and presentation is cliche and uncreative, and making it less cliche and more creative would have hardly taken that much more effort.

So how about you actually discuss my criticism, instead of posting a cliche and uncreative comment ("Where is your...etc").

ugh, I strongly disagree with the use of 28 Days Later music for anything other than 28 Days Later.

I think we can all agree that the $300 number is meaningless. What is important is that this is a homebrew video done without the aid of Hollywood special effects and production capabilities, yet it looks Hollywood quality. I'm particularly impressed with the quality of the lighting how well the rendered robots blend in with the surroundings under different lighting conditions. This guy truly nailed it. Good job.

It's constantly moving and would probably get annoying real fast, not to mention likely taking up more processor cycles than is necessary on a phone which, by nature, need as many as they can get.

Nonetheless.....I bloody love that Tron-ish background on the Nexus One. Google? Give me this phone now.

I agree, some of these would make cool posters. The YouTube cover is a bit odd "Big brother is watching you.". I don't consider YouTube George Orwellian at all. The title should be "The World is Watching You". Maybe I'm taking it too literal.

As I've learned, Youtube is an amazing free resource for cover bands (as long as you can learn by ear, anyway), and integrated lyrics make this function even more useful. FWIW, Youtube was successfully linking through to Vevo videos last night.

All I was able to find was the blog and the youtube channel.

    www.vevo.com
redirects to the blog, am I missing something? Live event coverage?
