<![CDATA[Samsung Ships YP-P2 Media Player, Bluetooth Phone Compatibility To Come]]> Today in NYC, Samsung finally launched its long-awaited YP-P2 PMP, aka "the P2," the Korean powerhouse's rival to the iPod touch. The P2 features a 3" touchscreen display with an "EmoTure" interfaces that allows you to slide and tap your way through menus. But while it will ship fully functional with A2DP streaming Bluetooth stereo, its still-cooler Bluetooth cellphone speakerphone compatibility will come in a December firmware update.

Samsung announced that the PMP will actually receive three updates over the next four months. The first update is set for December and will include the Bluetooth 2.0 cell compatibility, as well as AAC playback. The second set of updates will be available in January and will feature games—titles TBA—and additional functions. The final update hits in March and will feature improvements that Samsung will decide based on market research. [Samsung]

<![CDATA[Samsung Announce Pricing, Release Details for YP-P2, YP-T10 MP3 Players]]> Both the Samsung YP-P2 and YP-T10 MP3 players have been given pricing and release info. The P2 is Samsung's stab at the iPod Touch, with a big ol' touchscreen and a home-esque button. The 4GB version will run $199 and the 8GB version $249. The T10 is a more modest affair, more reminiscent of the old nanos. Its 4GB version will run $149 and the 8GB $199. Both models will drop here in the States sometime later this month.

<![CDATA[Sexy Video of Samsung YP-P2 iPod-Killer Wannabe]]>
Poor Jesus, I heckle him about his iPhone love as he's just trying to give our dear readers a taste of Samsung's YP-P2 PMP. But you really need to know the context:

Jesus, Ad and I are cabbing it back from the show yesterday. Jesus whips out the old iPhone to check his email, feel better about himself, pick up chicks, etc. Our cab driver, spotting the glorious device in his rear view mirror, begins panting at the prospect of the quite literal JesusPhone being right in his presence (since there's no iPhone love for Germany at the moment). He asks to hold it, unconsciously cutting over a lane in heavy traffic and almost killing us in the process.

With a child-like wonder, our cabbie stares at the device. He doesn't even know what to do with it, but couldn't have been more joyous all the same—like a prepubescent male during his first encounter with a Playboy magazine.

As he pulled up to our hotel, the now fanatical driver started pitching Jesus hardcore on selling the phone right then and there. I believe certain "favors" may have been offered. Jesus refuses. A few times.

Stiffed his tip by our lack of euros, Ad apologizes. But the driver is all smiles. "Seeing that is my tip," he says, pointing at the iPhone. And we feel just a bit less like total douchebags.

<![CDATA[Samsung has officially acknowledged the Bluetooth-enabled...]]> Samsung has officially acknowledged the Bluetooth-enabled YP-T10 and the YP-P2, though no pricing was discussed. Even more mysteriously, Samsung didn't announce the equally rumored YP-S5 at the same time.
