RED cameras. Even the embattled Zunes. All are categories that I can see getting a person so worked up with devotion that they permanently mark themselves with a corporate brand. Cisco? No so much. And yet, this exists:

Geekologie reader Brian loves himself some Cisco. Lucky for him the design kind of resembles a post-Apocalyptic barcode brand-like symbol or something, so it could have the legs to last a lifetime. Unlike, you know, Zune guy. [Geekologie]

<![CDATA[Zune Guy Somehow Manages to Get Even Sadder]]> Zune Guy, who abandoned Zune because it abandoned him first, is considering crawling back to the Zune HD, and getting a new Zune tattoo to mark the occasion. If there's anything sadder than fanboys, it's fanboys with no conviction. [Wired]

<![CDATA[BlackBerry Storm Tattoo Wins Guy a Storm For Real]]> Hands up who thought Zune guy was crazy, even after his recent tattoo makeover? Right...brace yourselves: The guys at Crackberry were running a "What would you do for a BlackBerry Storm?" contest, and they've got themselves a winner. A genuine new BlackBerry Storm-tattoo-toting winner. Ohgoodgodno. Check out the video of the nutter winner actually getting his tattoo, complete with "iPhone sucks" motto. And relish the delicious sight of the Apple-fan tattoo artist wearing an iPhone T-shirt, plus the final tat in closeup in the photos below.

That's one hellish big tattoo to have to conceal/rework/remove in a few years time. The resale value of the Storm might not even cover it. Still... at least he can wear a pair of long socks and hide its ugliness from the rest of us. [Crackberry]

<![CDATA[Zune Guy Makes Yet Another Fantastic Life Decision]]> Zune Guy — arguably the greatest fanboy of our time — has decided to finally commit his acrimonious separation from his namesake to ink. So what does he do? He integrates the Zune logo into a tattoo of Dick Cheney as the Devil, where it serves as a makeshift inverted pentagram on the veep's forehead. As far as tattoos go, this not-quite-complete piece of agitprop is a minor improvement and much easier to explain — after all, Cheney isn't the most popular guy in the world, and people have at least heard of him.

Harder to explain will be Mr. Guy's crucial misunderstanding of what a pentagram looks like, and his apparent need to get tattoos that will by their very nature be completely irrelevant in a few years. In any case, Zune Guy clearly wants to engage with something bigger than consumer electronics, so I'm a little bit disappointed that he hasn't decided to throw his considerable weight behind one of the current presidential candidates. Forget Colin Powell — that would be a game-changer. [iPhone Savior - Thanks, Ry!]

<![CDATA[Zune Guy Looks Even Creepier with an iPod touch]]> Apple, if this has all been just one particularly ambitious viral marketing campaign, know that this photo would scare even the most loyal of fanboys, forcing them to boil their poor iPods for proper sterilization from the new, intangible "ick factor." In all seriousness, we're sure that Steve "ex-Zunemeister" Smith is a nice guy. But Cupertino did not engineer the touch to be in such close proximity to that 'stache. [iPhone Savior]

<![CDATA[Is Microsoft Abandoning the Zune? Zune Guy Smells So]]> In his apparently final transmission, the Zune Guy reveals that it wasn't just the lack of a Zune announcement at E3 that choked the last pepperoni-scented fanboy breath out of his furry, tattooed frame. No, he "can kinda smell" that Microsoft is "slowly pulling out of a product," and "backing away from what they created." It has been pretty dry in Zuneland. Do you think it's just a temporary drought, or might he be right? Will his profanity-laden, emotion-packed video missive spur the Zune gods to quench the thirst of fanbase clearly crying out for more? Tune in, uh, next week! I guess? [Thanks Johnny!]

<![CDATA[Zune Guy Buys iPod classic, Hell Freezes, Apocalypse Nears!]]> No, we are not kidding: the infamous Zune Guy, that dude who got three Zune tattoos, and then decided to get rid of them, says now that he avoided buying a Zune last time he was at Best Buy and got an iPod classic 80GB. He openly admitted it in the Zune Scene forums.

And low and behold, it's a black iPod classic 80gb. When I was in Best Buy I looked around at the other players, and they sold no Creatives in the store, so the only choices were iPods, Zunes, Insignas, Samsung and Sony. So when looking at which had everything available in store (I despise UPS) I went with the iPod. I more than likely will regret this decision but I will let you all know down the road. I do like the weight and feel of the device thus far.

At least he's looking at the alternative, but at this rate he's going to end up with a lot of scars. I wonder how many iPod owners would change to Zune to see. Are you an iPod owner? Would you do it? [Zune Scene]

<![CDATA[Zune Tattoo Guy Asks Microsoft's Permission to Change Name to 'Microsoft Zune']]> As if this Zune Tattoo guy couldn't get any crazier, he's actually starting the process of legally changing his name to "Microsoft Zune." As you'd suspect, Microsoft might have a problem with that, so Mr. Zune Tat called up tech support to ask their permission on whether it was OK. And for all of our enjoyment, Steve decided to record his call and put it up on YouTube. The result? The tech support line he talked to doesn't have any real information for him and they advise that he write a letter to legal. If you're interested, hit the jump for a tech support call that has all of the holding and none of the resolution that you'd normally get from your own tech support calls.
