    Even though it is gross and disgusting.. ill take that over anoter ad with blacks speaking like they never went to school. example: "Yo! This core style!" Wtf?? worse then hillbilly talk.. damn.

    @aeroworks: Well, to be perfectly fair, that's how Afrika Bambaataa and Common talk. And I don't think the agency behind this ad was thinking, "Let's get stereotypical 'black' dialogue" more so than "Damn, it would be badass if we could get Afrika Bambaataa and Common in a commercial together."


    Which, as a hip-hop head, I personally think was rather cool. It's good to see Afrika getting some national notoriety again.

    Seems to me it would be better suited as a Sony Bravia ad. Just switch the music to something a little more lilting.

    Advertise the product. Conceptual ads are hated. It's why people make fun of perfume ads.


    Show the product. Show how it works. Show the brand name.


    This isn't rocket surgery, people.

    @RoscoPeeholePain: That's great. A gorilla playing drums. What the hell is it selling? I'm not going to watch an ad for 90 seconds and gorillas have nothing to do with chocolate bars.


    I'm sure it's referred to as "the gorilla ad", not "the Cadbury ad", meaning that the ad agency is getting the benefit and praise.


    Award shows for commercials are meaningless. I'm basing this on the fact that the award show isn't aired and we air the Country Music Awards and the Daytime Emmys. That's how little awards for commercials mean.


    Remember the iPod dancers? Of course you do. It showed the product. You knew what it was advertising. Same goes for the current iPod/iPhone ads. Same goes for car commercials. If people are going to buy something, they need to see it.


    BTW: Stateside, Cadbury's only sells around Easter and it's a rabbit that clucks like a chicken that sells it.
