Although, I have to say, the warranty/repair process is pretty streamlined. I wish I didn't know this, but it's better than it breaking and them not giving a shit at all (*cough* apple *cough*) #zunehdgames

@m4ximusprim3: My sister had an iPod she purchased without their AppleCare. Within two weeks it died on her. They tried to pawn off some banged up, scuffed up, scruffy looking refurbished unit on her even though hers was immaculate and wouldn't offer any kind of discount for taking a refurb. I don't know of any other company that would consider doing that to a customer on an obviously defective unit because you didn't pay the additional $60 for their extended warranty. Apple makes some great products, but the way they treated my sister effectively prevented me from ever buying an iPod. The Touch is nice, but I'm hesitant to get one because of iTunes and the level of customer disservice my sister received.

My Zune, compared to her now 3rd iPod, has been great. I'm looking forward to getting a Zune HD, that is unless someone drops a really nice Android PMP or other nice PMP that impresses me. #zunehdgames

i quickly did some playtests of PGR and Audiosurf before I had to go. Audiosurf is a ton of fun and looks pretty damn good. PGR surprised me as the accelerometer (spelling off prob) seems to be sharper than my Iphone 3g's. I hated racing games on my iphone cause of how inprecise the controls felt. That wasn't the case with this game, and the graphics don't look half bad either. #zunehdgames

@mosammey: Yeh, I'm not really sure. I've been to 3 of the 5 that are close to me, and they've all told me the same story. Of course this all coming from the mouths of BB employees, so not sure how much water it holds. Could just be part of BB's plan to sell more iPods. After the girl last night told me this story, she recommended an iPod Touch to me, "they're better anyway". #zunehdgames

@mosammey: I got my Zune HD 16 at the Hwy 6. and Westhimer Best Buy here in Houston with and extra 10% off from Rewards Zone. I got it Halloween night and they had plenty and a display model.

Loving the PGR.. May have to get that on the 360 #zunehdgames

cjcamilla's point is valid, it takes time for people to notice the Zune. I see them in stores and I have 1 friend who uses a Zune, but past that they are invisible. I would probably buy a Zune, but the iPhone already occupies that marketspace. THAT'S the point.

@Bigbadbikernerd: At $15 for 10 songs, that's hardly renting anyway - you're almost paying par for the songs and getting the downloading option for free. Or paying a few extra bucks to save yourself from wasting even more on songs you end up not wanting, say a month later. I'd probably buy more music from itunes under a model like that. #zunehdgames

I call bullshit on this line. Every iPhone owner I know that owned a iPod beforehand, still uses their iPod. People who actually used their 60 gig iPods before the iPhone didn't just give up 40 gigs of music. Yeah, they may leave the iPod in the car now, or use it LESS, but they still use it.

To answer the below question, the XBOX can access the Zune's music library already via USB connection.

"Will the Xbox platform also get access to the Zune music library? THAT would be a huge coup for the Xbox platform over the PS3, being able to stream music on the fly just like the Zune HD."

It's clear the author of this article knows very little about the current Zune... Zune users can ALREADY stream music from their PC to the Xbox by way of the Zune software. The Zune also ALREADY has the ability to be used as a playback device with the Xbox -- simply connect the Zune via USB and you can browse and play all your Zune media on the Xbox. And the Zune ALREADY supports games made using the XNA development, which is the SAME development suite used for Xbox community games.

1. I don't care about the gaming aspect on my Zune. Other than maybe some time killers (Which I have my phone for).

2. If they were to make a Zune Phone I would want it to run Android...so they might as well not release a Zune phone:)

@aquajaws: Yeah... I'm pretty sure that "HD" stands for "high definition". It does output at 720p, which for a PMP, is pretty darn good. You could also argue that HD refers to the 480x272 resolution on the OLED screen. That's a pretty high pixel density, considering the size of the screen - it's better than the maximum resolution oh my computer monitor, which plays HD video.

My suggestions without any fore-thought:

HD = 720p highly compressed, in most cases worse than 480p DVD material.

HD+ = 1080p highly compressed, probably about the same as 480p DVD material.

HD Stratovision Super Deluxe 9000 = 1080p non-compressed, and still only marginally better than 480p DVD material.

I cannot imagine why no one is buying into this whole HD thing.
