Amazon just announced a mysterious launch event in Seattle on June 18th. Well, really, we pretty much know what it's going to be. Though we can't be sure, the video attached to the invitation all but reveals that Amazon will announce the 3D smartphone we've been hearing about forever.

The teaser video above hints at features similar to the eye-tracking 3D effect that's been reported several times in recent months. We've also heard that the phone will have some tilt and touch-free gesture controls.

The event announcement is odd because rather than the media invitation, ahem, we're use to getting, Amazon has invited its customers to request an invitation to the phone launch. Whatever it is Amazon's announcing, we'll know soon enough.
