I don't know how much of a tip this is, but I've got a friend working at Google NYC who got one of the new Google phones.

Two problems, however: first, the phone is GSM only, so he's not happy about that. Second, this phone is HIS BONUS for this year. His usual bonus is $1K in cash, taxes paid by Google.

SO according to him the phone is just going to sit, unused, in a drawer in his apartment. Hoo...ray?

@elbowrm: Sorry buddy, but my friend also has a ton of prohibitions against selling or transferring the phone whatsoever, as pronounced by Google. He can't even give it to a family member if he doesn't want it. I think you'll probably have to wait like everybody else.
