@MifuneT: I don't really celebrate anyway. I either go to a movie with a group of friends, or just have a dinner at the house with family/friends.

I turn 21 this year, and I'll be doing the same thing.
No drinking for this guy.

Not a fan at all. Especially of any kind of work celebration. If anyone at work somehow does find out my birthday, I politely ask them to ignore it.

@the dog: Exactly. I had no choice to opt out of the work cake. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to act surprised or how grateful I should act when my cake is announced.

@MifuneT: My 16th birthday was kind of awful. I was in London with my family, they totally forgot that it was my birthday, then bought my younger sister an iPod. Then I had surgery on my foot, and my parents took my sister out to dinner at the Hard Rock Café while I was lying in bed, doped up on painkillers. Then they bought me a souvenir t-shirt that was a duplicate of one I already had.

@MifuneT: I am the exact same way. When I see some romcom about people in relationships that are supposed to be my age, I always think "I doubt they spend as much time with comic books and video games as I do".

They even look more like adults then I do, and I am starting to get gray hairs....growing out of my ears!
