yep Halo is most definitely an Xbox franchise in the west, but in Japan since the original Xbox really did not sell too well, the name "Halo" carries almost no weight. That and Japan just doesn't seem to have a hard-on for FPS games like the rest of the world does.

Ummmm... wouldn't Halo qualify as an Xbox franchise? I know it's available for PC, too, but so are most of the Final Fantasy games.

Yeah, I think the Apple Store inspired this. You go there, hang around and check out the laptops, and ipods. Sit a the theater and watch a presentation. You just can't get a coffee there. Thanks alot for this wonderful article, Yongfook. I liked it very much.

This must be the marketing trend of the moment. Illy coffee is doing a similar thing in NYC, there is this coffee bar where you can grab a shot of espresso and hang out. They don't push product, but hold classes on making shots and such. Is this inspired by the Apple Store in some way, genius bar and all that?

Now, that's the kind of place that would do incredibly well somewhere like Los Angeles. It would be the gamer hang out of the country. Like a Barns and Noble like place, but for hard-core gamers. Count me in. :)
