You can always navigate with the trackwheel but it's rarely the most efficient method (just as you could click through various menus on your PC or use the shortcuts instead). Definitely learn the shortcuts.

Excellent device; just got it. The screen is 1000% better than my old color BB. I've already got a ton of comments from my BB-toting friends on how much nicer the screen is. One big plus for me is that, with EDGE, this thing can actually browse the web. It pulls down full webpages, too, and formats them intelligently. Battery life is a little poor but on par with Windows Mobile devices. The built in OZ multi-IM client has been a pain in my ass, esp. when used with MSN (disconnects, doesn't stay logged in, doesn't refresh online contact list). Get Google Talk for BB instead---it rocks.
