how do you enter a channel number directly? there's no number keypad... do you have to scroll through XM's 120+ channels to find the station you want? if so, that sucks.

shooter

Actually, I believe XM does the core design, then farms it out to Pioneer et. al. for manufacture - if you check out the FCC ID labels, they belong to XM, not Pioneer etc.

XM may do the hardware design as well to fit within certain design constraints - ever notice the dock connector between devices is awfully close? This is certainly true with the first-gen XM2Go devices (which also have record) - the only real difference is visual looks - the internal hardware is more or less the same.

I didn't see a mention of the "awful" options you have in partitioning the 1GB flash (no hard drive) in these devices - it's either 50/50, or 100% XM. You lose all content though when you do this.
Worf

I heard that Stern said that live portable satellite radio doesn't work right...because he didn't invent it..Hoo hoo, tell 'em Fred.

I've been waiting for this to come out ever since they showed them off at CES a while back. I'm glad to see that the form factor has stayed the same. Also, i wish that XM would install repeaters in the subway, that way i can really use it to it's fullest extent.
Papercutninja

gosh, the Helix basically is the Inno. would guess that Pioneer just licensed the player from Samsung? or they share a 3rd party OEM? Anywho - I think a law suit for one is a law suit for both.
thrillhouse
