Walking (especially over obstacles) is a non-trivial control problem requiring some serious work, but the rest of it just needs a bit of development. Faster hydraulics, composite structure (lighter and quieter), moah powah, etc. This isn't a bad effort for a guy in a garage. I do wonder what the legal and regulatory issues are with something like this though. Not much fun if you can't take it out on the streets.
