My boyfriend bought the Iphone days ago and since I first heard the factory ringtone I've been saying "Where is that song from, I've heard this before?".....Well I finally figured it out...the movie American Beauty, the song is called 'Dead Already'. Sounds almost identical!!!

Nice point Beatle. Glad to see thinking people still around in the U.S. Anyhow with regards to this mp3 ringtone thing, I personally have an iphone and have even applied this new ringtone called the VoxTone. site adress is www.voxtoneonline.com. with a bit of conversion work I took my .mp3 voxtone and now have it as my ringtone for the iphone. So it can be done, you just have to convert the original mp3 or .wav.

I actually have 5 voxtones, one for incomming and the others within my contact book.

Dark13, I honestly hope you're joking. People get offended by the silliest things these days, and then from there make statements based on confused information.

For example, I find YOUR comment to be offensive because you're egotistically assuming that "holy angels" only apply to Christians. Jews and Muslims also believe in angels, and just like Christians usually think of them as messengers of God.

I agree that Christians in the U.S. get the short end of the stick in this day and age, but this isn't one of those examples!!

I say save getting offended for where it counts..

Wow, nice work Jimmah, love the midi version. I've just uploaded them at c21tones.com so you can get them direct to mobile by WAP Push if people don't have bluetooth. It also does Midi conversion to the right format for phones without Midi support I think it even includes conversion to the old Nokia binary. Number of downloads at this site is restricted per day so get em while they're available.

SpudMills: At $600, the thing should give you a handjob when it rings. The fact that Cingular/Apple (CrApple?) won't let you is enough to piss people off. Right now, that's the way it is. If enough people are pissed off, they might change it. Who says whoever did it has to be a crazed fanboy? Maybe they just liked the ringtone and wanted to use it like myself. I'm not planning on buying an iPhone (unless it significantly drops in price), but I happen to like the ringtone demoed in the keynote. I find it a welcome change from the normal loud and obnoxious ringers on many phones that literally startle you when they go off. It's fairly pleasing, not overbearing and lets you know a call is coming. What's not to like?
