I have a digicam that uses AA batteries. This seems like a good product for people who travel so a separate power adapter/converter is not required, just your laptop. Charge the AA batteries while you charge your laptop overnight.

davemak

I can't think of any situation I've been in where I would want to charge AA batteries via my USB port.

If I'm near a desktop machine, there's going to be a power plug somewhere.

If I'm on my laptop, I wouldn't want to drain my laptops batteries to charge AA batteries.

That's ignoring the fact that it takes 4 hours to charge the batteries, and my laptop battery only lasts four hourse, and presumably, the laptop has to be powered up to charge this thing.

/this is especially useless for me since I bit the bullet and bought one of these.

http://www.nimhbattery.com/maha-mh-c801d-battery-charger.h...

I paid $70 bucks, but it will charge 8 AA/AAA batteries at a time in about an hour. Bonus, charges batteries individually, no need to charge them in pairs. Since I got this charger, I basically keep piles of charged batteries hanging around.

lordargent

Quote from their product page - "We cannot stress enough how important it is to NOT try and recharge alkaline batteries as some have been known to explode rather unpleasantly." Is it just me or are those two AAA's that they have in their picture Duracel Alkalines? :)

Boadie

Is it just me or is that a set of NON recharable Duracell AAAs in there? Duracell Recharables are either Green and White or Green and Black for the newer... Those there look like a pair of Duracell AAA Ultras. O.o

And a USB Charger must charge pretty slow, I know the ones we sell in our store is deadly slow.

But one quick question Jason, does this charge Ni-CD, NiMH, or both?

Link Koriri
