I have been using this unit for about a month now with my 360. The best part about it is the breakout of all of the video and audio connections allowing the use of standard cables. Makes my life easy when moving the 360 out to my 32" Samsung LCD in the living room or using it in my office connected to my KVM via VGA on my 19" Samsung LCD monitor. The additional USB ports are an added bonus for connecting multiple devices. I've used it for a keyboard, the xbl vision and a USB external HD. No problems. In terms of heat, the cover is barely warm even after running for hours at a time. As to the poster who experienced the RROD, I would say that is merely a coincidence, especially given the failure rate of the 360 since it was released. Hence the 3 year bump in warranty.

wrsiii

I just Bought the Pelican Air Flo for the 360 2 weeks ago. I left for a trip and came back and downloaded a demo over night and let it run until the 360 does its auto shut down. I woke up today and my 360 was still on. I turned it off not thinking of any thing and purchased the new BIOSHOCK game and I went to turn it on today and the red ring of death came on and that has never happened to me since I bought it on launch day. So I'm Kinda worried if it was just my xbox or the cooler IDK! So now I have to either call pelican or xbox to try and get it fixed. This is going to be a long MONTH waiting for the damn thing to get fixed and looking at my new game I cant Play.

DjBulletFast

So does this thing in any way at all drain power from the Xbox 360 console? I just bought this and i'm hesitating to put it on because of all the reviews of the Nyko intercooler and I don't want the same thing happening to my xbox 360.

xverbalalchemyx

I don't think all 360's were created equal. Yours may be fine but mine does tend to overheat. I solved it my rewiring it to run off a 12 volt transformer I had laying around and it works fine. The change to 65 nm manufacturing should address all the overheating issues soon and the change in DVD drives should address the noise problems.

gwolf

Honestly these cooling units are 'solving' a problem that doesn't exist. If someone is having overheating problems with their 360 it's due to the envirnoment around the 360, and not the unit itself which has sufficient fans and internal air flow.

The multiple usb ports and other connectors are pretty cool though.

dioscaido

They don't show it in the picture but I'm guessing there's either a USB cable on the inside to plug into the 360 or it's a rigid plug that directly lines up with the 360's USB port.

I'm thinking about getting this. Now I can go back to using my monster component/audio cables that use to connect my original DVD player before I got the 360.

I'd like to see a picture of this thing actually plugged into a 360 just to get an idea how it looks and connects.

Starbase00

What about the 4 USB ports on the pelican one of them will either be a pass-thorugh or at the very least it will be a USB hub and the wireless adpater will still work

lagrian

To answer Tony Rocky Horror's question: No it won't. The Nyko intercooler received its power straight from the outlet. As a result, the heat from the 360 AND the fans melted the plastic on the cooler plug and spilled into the 360 a bit. This is a RARE RARE occurrence but it occurred maybe a few times. This cooler runs on TWO fans instead of three and doesn't go through the power outlet in anyway. And given that its powered by USB, the heat generated from the cooler will be very minimal.

daftrok

will this thing fry and scorch my 360 like the Nyko Intercooler did to some people's 360s?

if not, i'll be all over this. i'll just wait for a couple of months to see how the long-term use of this thing turns out before i snag one.

then again, if the Aussie rumors of that new, improved 360 are true, then surely that will come to the US soonish as well, and i'll just wait for that instead.

TonyRockyHorror
