Burning Man indeed. I was sitting at the G-Spot bar at roughly 2pm drinking some fuzzy orange concoction 2 years back at the burn and this 2 story robotic giraffe walked by. I calmly looked into my cup, looked back at the giraffe, then poured myself another.

*sigh*

Good times.

diem

hi, phil from MAKE here... i've only been to burning man once and i don't think brands/companies would be good there, and likely not welcomed. MAKE has a lot of projects from burning man and a lot of our makers are in the community, but i think you wouldn't have families and kids at maker faire... which is more like a county + science faire and a dash of burning man-like stuff and subversive stuff to be fun.

phillip torrone

I was just about to mention Burning Man eltee. They should just hold the Maker Faire there as all the really cool stuff will either come from, or end up, there anyway.

ninjamurf

Actually its not just an electric giraffe, its a trance beat pumping dancing electric giraffe, covered with LED's from nose to tail. I saw it later at a convention (it was originally a burning man project) and it was certainly a sight to behold as it strobed lights, wobbled around, and put out about 600 watts of thumping bass.

eltee

<Keep in mind, you perverts, that this is a <family-friendly event, which last year had 20,000 <people attending. Keep it clean.

Uh, it looks like the giraffe is giving it's "operator" some oral pleasure. I guess that's the real inovation. Nobody wants an electric giraffe, but who could argue with a BJ from across the room?
</people></family-friendly></Keep>
atomx
