Yeah it is a big deal in a corporate environment. We're busting ass on this one. The only pushable patches are XP and 2003 Server. Win2000 is manual (server) and NT isn't even going to have a fix. We also have BES and that's no biggie. Also a few exchange servers ... and if you use outlook that is where it's really going to eff things up - all scheduled meeting/appointments - if you don't apply the patches in the right order. That's just the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

Luckily here at home the Vista goodness is running and that patch is built in.

I'm with Pepe the King Prawn up there (well, kinda, seeing as how I live in Arizona).

The only downside to living in Arizona and having to deal with everyone else being on DST is the fact that all of the shows you watch on cable or satellite TV or listen to on radio (that originate outside AZ), online or on XM/the Dog change times twice a year.

I'm figuring that for the most part, Arizona will be safe for this mess, since most of our electronics like VCRs/TiVos and computers have the option to disable DST, so it's already a moot point. But at the same time, all those $25 atomic clocks that DON'T have a DST bypass switch already spend the summers set to the Pacific time zone anyway.

I think JAG42's right - most devices (phones at least) are default-set to automatically update time settings by the network...now we just have to make sure our mobile switches are broadcasting the correct time...

Fortunately this change doesn't stop us from changing the time back manually on afflicted devices.

It's actually not as bad as it seems. We have over 15k BB's here and our patch is going out today. Sent wirelessly over the BES will take 15 min, but! we can only do 100 BB's at a time. If we try to do all the BB's then our servers will get bogged to hell.
