"Both cameras have a 3x optical zoom lens, as well as a 7.1-megapixel CCD with Canon's updated Digic III image processor with face detection and noise reduction technology."

IIRC, Canon uses CMOS technology instead of CCD technology.

JrezIN

Nothing special to make me want to upgrade from a SD630. Also, I don't like the black/silver styling.

Azndude51

The 750: I hate that they've switched to a vertical sliding switch for the camera mode. Too easy to bump it with your thumb when you are taking a shot. They should have left this as a horizontal slide switch at the top, where it's out of the way and would not be bumped in a way to change its function.

I have to say the SD1000 looks nice...I love the old squarish "box and circle" design that Canon seemed to be getting away from on recent models. I traded up from an SD400 to an SD700is, but still can't get past the roundish curves and lopsided design of my new cam.

Cav

Seem to be replacements for the SD630 (750) and the SD600 (1000). Digic III and another megapixel seems to be the main differences between the new models and their older counterparts.

blue_94_trooper

Why can't they just make their numbering system more consistent? And the black and silver looks crappy.

akatsuki

And the SD1000 looks like it's got the manual viewfinder while the SD750's larger screen doesn't leave room for one.

And these two models are cheaper than the SD900, which is a good $100-150 more for the full 10 megapixel option.

chillywilly

I bought an Elph SD10 when they first came out. It stopped working within a year. I contacted tech support and they said it would cost me $200 for them to take a look at it. I only paid $250 for it new so basically I would be paying for the camera twice. I'll never buy a Cannon product again.

almoore
