"but other than their name (and those killer paint jobs) there's nothing these PCs offer that you can't get from say Alienware or Dell."

So what's wrong with having ANOTHER supplier? Maybe a little competition will do both parties good. Just because their name happens to be Commodore doesn't make them any better or any worse than Dell/Alienware. I wonder, when a new video card comes out do you say, "but other than their name there's nothing these ATI video cards offer that you can't get from say Nvidia"?

ninjamurf

I don't understand the market for these high-end PCs. No self-respecting gamer would ever buy a pre-built rig. In fact, the most fun you can have on a given day would at least involve unboxing lots of little components and methodically assembling them into the most powerful computer you have ever owned.

Atrahasis

I believe there were semicolons - when printing, I think the semicolons caused the 'printing' to display without line breaks, like this:

Oh Yeah! Oh Yeah! Oh Yeah! Oh Yeah! (etc...)

Granted, it's been 20+ years since I've touched the stuff - but that's one thing I vaguely remember. :) Whether they were placed correctly is another thing (hard to get ActionScript out of one's mind).

Dudes, face it: Commodore is little more than a logo now, like Polaroid. Getting upset about what Commodore's doing these days is like getting upset about your little brother chewing off your dad's head. He's not your little brother any more. That's just his re-animated corpse, the walking dead, a zombie. So blast him with the shotgun and let's get out of here before more of those things are alerted to our presence and start coming after us. And if there really is any small part of your little brother left in that ambulant rotting shell, you'll be doing him a favor anyway.

Serolf Divad

Price point might be key here folks (but we won't know that till mid April). High end Alienware/Dell computers come at a very steep price. For general gamers who don't know the business end of a phillips head screwdriver, more fish in the gaming-PC pond should be a welcomed addition.

the_caveat
