Scenario:
My thinkpad r32 lost its ability to render any kind of video. The video chip toasted but it still boots up. So the question would be if one of this little puppies would work for me to make it into a working computer (albeit losing its portability)?
ironically just yesterday, i had the exact same problem with my new 1920x1200 monitor and an nvidia card. i had to upgrade to a newer video card to solve my problem.

markyland

Might I suggest that an exclamation point (!) followed by a question mark (?) would be much more effective than three or even four questions marks (??? or ????) in a row.

karmaghost

monitors that use usb, now this. we are going to start seeing a spike in monitor sales with all this push to have more than one. next we will see people will no longer have to be torn between pron and work. [;

jErrt

Could be cool for phones and game machines that have Mini-USB ports on them. They would have to update the firmware to recognize the device, but I'd love to be able to play my PSP games on a full sized monitor.

Jordan Lund

Either Dell's current batch of drivers suck (likely), or NVidia just sucks in general (also likely). We've had many similar (and just plain stupid) issues with their current generation of chips.

Todd

If the refresh wasn't too bad it'd be nice for add a second 'real' screen (the ones on these Crap Laptops here at work are 1024x768! even tho the card supports 1200x1600 on my external!!!) to my laptop... Since I'm just banging out code (in DOS CLIPPER, no less) I don't need fast refresh, just more real estate....

bakaryuu

I have a Dell M1210 with the 7400 nvidia card and it can't output any widescreen format! I've spent 5 hours with their tech support and they can't figure it out either. I can't even output the native resolution of the screen???? Actually every Laptop I see with a nvidia card has the same problem??? My 2.5 year old dell laptop with a ATI card outputs any rez I want.
Maybe this will support the 1280 X 720 and 1920 X 1200 that I need.

fastm3driver

Would USB support a refresh rate that wouldnt' make you go blind?
