Also, in regard to age, it looks pretty evenly split between the 15-24s, 25-34s, 35-49s...

Is the short lived enjoyment and fame from owning an iPhone worth the headaches of going into more debt because you can't pay your bills on time? I could probably swing the price of the phone and the cell plan but why bother. I've been in your shoes my friend and can tell you from my experience that this device will introduce more stress into your life than bring enjoyment. Think about how you'll feel about the device after you drop it a of couple times.

Just some friendly advice. Save your money, go to college, and when you graduate, buy an iPhone when the cell providers subsidize the price.

Half of the people that vow to never get one are secretly in love with it.

The phone is over priced and thats just it and it will remain overpriced just like most apple products that do 1/2 the stuff they say they can do as "innovations"..yet the fanboys and the ads(media) will make everyone want to get one.

On another note, I would consider getting one a lot more if it was a different provider and more space to put stuff in there( common 4GB for pics, music, movies, tv shows, etc..gimmie a break.

You guys think they will be as scratch prone as the current Video Ipods are or the old nanos?

The only good thing about the iPhone is that after it comes out, Apple stock should come down again so I can purchase some shares at a reasonable price before Leopard and the new iMacs come out.

1. Not on Verizon's network =( still in contract and like Verizon's cell service anyway.

2. Phone has a slow processor.

3. No expansion slot?

4. My Windows Mobile Smartphone is outfitted to look JUST AS sexy as the iPhone...There's many skins to make a WM phone EXACTLY like an iPhone.

5. I have Picsel Browser which ROX. Then there's Deep Fish so the iPhone's browser? Yea, no big deal.

Things I HATE about my SmartPhone.

1. WM does crash once in a blue moon (but let's see iPhone).

2. My phone's battery life is absolutely horrible.

3. My phone's size is too big.

So I guess I have more reasons NOT to get an iPhone...but still nothing is perfect out there.

As far as contracts go, there is no subsidy for upgrading, so you can be day 31 into a contract and you can buy an iPhone at the $500/$600 price point.

Oh, there won't be any discounting for this, for ANY reason, 'military discount'? Hah.

Well, then you can forget about the Visual Voicemail feature. That's done on the network side. It will never work with another carrier unless Apple signs up with them as well.
