Bah, in 30 years they'll be throwing this stuff out as junk. It won't take a lot of money to have this then.

Of course, this level in 30 years will be full 3-d immersion; and you'll be telling stories to your grandchildren about how you had to suffer through the early days of mere HD TV...

cad3

I second the blankets. Nothing says home theater like having a comfy throw to cover your lap...particularly if you get to snuggle with someone special.

I see the old layout for some obsure reason... with the hideous XBox green scheme, but nonetheless the old layout... this calls for rejoicing at
1) The wisdom of the giz crew
2) sheer luck with my browser cache which for some reason didn't erase properly...

but yeah, YAY!

Plus, it seems that in order to incorporate two screens, not only do you need a lot of money but you also need to have exceedingly bad taste!!! ;-) What hideous furniture and ummm, lovely reproduction lighting sconces... The whole thing looks like a bad set out of Dallas! Get with reality here guys, we are now in the C21st, not the C19th...

ecobore

This is so amateurish. If I had unlimited cash, I would embed micro-scopic LED's in the walls and move the image wherever I wanted via remote control. Hell, that way we would be one step closer to the holodeck.

Another solution is to have 2 different screens in front. One made out of a high-contrast gray and the other with a super-white color accurate screen. Have them both on powered mounts and with the push of a button go from light room casual viewing to dedicated movie viewing.

Vtecno_Geek

I thought of something slightly similar to this a while back when I first got my projector. I wanted to use to my perfectly good 32" plasma for something, but the room is so small that it really isn't practical. Still, it's great idea especially if you don't want to use up bulb time on channel surfing or shows you don't really care about.

dle5

I need to alert my grandmother that her carpet and couch have been stolen!

You'd think with the amount of money and style that was put into the bar/card area, they could have spent a little bit on a decorator for the theater portion.

garrrgoyle

So this way, HALF of the room is useless 1/2 of the time... Why not put the plasma BEHIND the screen (that rolls up of course) and create a furniture layout that takes full use of the room of whichever event you wish. If you have money to burn, may as well think a tad more... THEN, I'd put (4) 42-inchers side by side behind the screen and watch 4 games/shows/events at once... like at a real casino and such... if you're gonna' waste money, may as well waste electricity as well... oh but the solar panels on the roof take care of that so nevermind...

zarchitect

I never thought a 42" could look so small. Anyway, I would still prefer to just sit closer to a plasma or lcd, especially since none of the rooms in my house are that big, especially not the room in the basement. Then again, that's just preference. I don't like the look of projection tvs, front or rear.

ceilingFANBOY

Anyone still drooling? Everyone can aspire... Right???

I would have made the projector drop down from the ceiling and the screen to raise up from the floor all from a remote control. I'm just a sucka for automation though.

I would love to see there computer room!
