@rezin khanz: I suppose if you have flippers for hands, but personally I've never ever seen anyone with a conventional cup holder on their desk. :shrug:

I think the depth is an effort to get as much surface area covered to insulate/transfer said heat and cold.
Peltier junctions are very power hungry, so they are probably just trying make it more effective.

It does limit it's utility somewhat though, admittedly.

Still, we have to burn the midnight oil if we're going to finish those TPS reports in time.

Does anyone else think the holder is too deep? I would think it would change the "cup holder feature" from a plus to a minus, considering oh, you know, IT WILL BE ON YOUR DESK. How many people have cup holders on their desks? I do, it's called a flat, non-moving surface otherwise known as A DESK.

Just don't set it to heat and cool at the same time, because in humid environments a small thumderstorm can develop over your desk, possibly ruining those TPS reports.
