Great idea - flying like a bird... with jet in your *** ... on your back. Anyway - looks cool. Put some video (i saw it somewhere already). As i remember it goes 300-400 kmph, and fuel lasts for 15 minutes.

@Haroon_Malik: Wow, those shots that give you a perspective on how high he is flying are incredible. The one shot of his cruising next to a small plane which gives you the impression that he is traveling at a good clip. I would assume that is true since he does get so high and the flight is so brief. I wonder if the landing part is done without power? I would hope it is capable of landing without jet power if only for safety sake.

Special Forces uses all kinds of fancy gadgets. I could see them using this to jump off at high altittude from within the borders of a friendly nation then using jet power to get them closer to their target then turning power off at a certain altitude then gliding to target. Hence my question above of whether one can glide with this thing as well if the jets were turned off. As far as disposing of it, I'm sure that's the last thing on their minds right now. They have all kinds of ways of disposing of stuff they no longer need or want.

I dont think the DoD will be all over this...

its probably niosy as hell, NOT disposable, and not very fuel efficient.

Wth is the gov going to do with hundrteds of flying soldiers who cant take off or land? lol. Not to mention they will be leaving the little things all over the battlefield.

Unless...you rigged them with a small thermonuclear self destruct....that way no technology would ever fall into the wrong hands!!!

Flying fast is easy. What he is trying to figure out now is how to fly slow enough so he can land without a chute. I saw another guy on Stunt Junkies who strapped two of those turbines directly to his ankles.

Who wants to bet we see some sort of semi-consumer product based on this idea/technology become easily available before we see any actual flying-cars delievered by Moller ?

Sure, Moller's got a 35-40 year headstart, his product is more "practical" than "adventure"-oriented, and this flying man hasn't expressed any interest in selling sets of wings to the rest of us...but, still, I think it's a fair bet.
