The only explanation I can think of for the split between this device and the one Sprint's getting is that Palm's shifting the Treo name to Windows Mobile devices and readying the Centro name for Palm OS (powered by Access, except if not) ones. That doesn't really make a lot of sense, but it would explain things (and go a long way toward standardizing Palm's weird Treo model nomenclature).

I agree, that screen could have been much larger. Just like on my Treo 700. So much wasted real estate on too big buttons and excess plastic around the screen.

But will they at least be slimmer than the fat-assed 600/700's?

It looks like the screen and or keyboard could have been bigger without making the device any larger.

The treo 680 and 750 were really nice designs but man, this thing blows.
