I still have it, it has to be in the same drawer i threw it in couple years ago. I won't argue, it's a beautiful object, not a bad "phone" - but the really awkward design (not to use the word "bad" again) makes it useless to me.

Good design is supposed to make objects usable, not to force you learn new ways of doing something you already know.

I don't think it's that bad at all. Its quite ergonomic and futuristic, besides that the hand doesn't cover it at all. I'm not sure how you guys hold your gadgets but mine wouldn't cover the screen.

Don't like the design. The controls are above the screen, which you'll cover while trying to use. Plus, the rounded top should be at the bottom to conform to your palm, instead of the sharp corners. Does not make sense at all. Kinda looks pretty though.

@gary_slamson: I agree, i remember people on here doing that and using their mad photoshop skills to suggest the leaked images of the new ipods were fake. Everyone was saying apple wouldnt be so stupid.

The next day they claim apple are design genius for releasing said piece of crap.

I guess some people are willing to allow companys to tell them whats pretty or not.

This thing is ugly to me though, but if i had a need for it i would overlook its ugly nature.

Not liking the design too much, almost there, but it needs to slim down a little and get some sharper edges.

For all the Apple fanboys who have posted to say that it's just copied the click wheel of the iPod - wrong, Apple copied the click wheel off B&O Beocom 6000 phone, which predates the original ipod.

@gary_slamson: I study Industrial design also, and while I'm no design guru, this thing strikes me as an awkward looking gizmo. It looks like a piece of a center console for a car than a phone. I held my phone and iPod upside down to get a feel for the reversed position, and I gotta say I didn't like the way it felt in my hand. I felt as though it would be much easier to accidentally drop my device, since I'm mainly gripping it on the top to have quick thumb access to the controls.

Hmmm, it's been a year since I had an iPod, but judging from that picture I sure would say the the left portion of your hand would cover the screen at least partially when you're thumb's on the left most portion of the wheel. I'm not holding it though, so you could be right.

@Keebler: now try holding your ipod upside down and scrolling...your hand doesn't cover the screen. The idea behind this and the serene was that your FACE won't leave greasy marks on the screen when you're talking on it.

It's actually rather clever in that respect. If it wasn't hyper expensive, I'd say it's a good phone.
