@rsquared: As I understand it, this type of suit assists your muscles when your moving, so the suit also assists in holding up it's own weight.

There was another giz article about some suit being developed for the military that was mostly a leg assist, allowing you to walk farther with heavy loads.

Normally you can carry a lot more weight on your back then on your arms. So a 30kg weight on your back should not keep you from carrying 50 kg on your arms.

I'm no math whiz, but let me see if I understand this...

By strapping a 66lb weight to my back (approx 30kg) I can now lift 100kg as if it were 50. So, in effect, I'm lifting 80kg. Is it worth it? Or should I just learn to lift with my legs instead of my back?
