There are some great features on this that Dell XPS models are known for but there are some downsides too. One is the weight. The 20" weighs almost 40lbs! Not exactly light. Second is this will not be for gaming. Its using a low-mid level AMD laptop graphics solution. This will be for the TV market as it comes with a TV tuner built in.

You are basically buying a large laptop when you get something like this. To make it all into an attractive form factor its going to be mostly laptopish components, slimmed down.

While its possible I would bet that they are going to follow the lead of the imac, by making them more terminals for people to surf the net or watch a movie. You still wont be able to beat a traditional tower for gaming/scalability.

I absolutely love this idea, I have been looking for something portable around the house, but not quite a notebook. However, my biggest concern is upgrading major items like the video card in a year or two. I'm sure memory/proc/hdd etc will be fine, but for gaming, video cards are key.

And in that situation using the trackpad from the keyboard is a lot easer than trying to use the couch cushion as a mousepad :)
