Sure there are some fun games still to play, but most of those can be downloaded legitimately for free and played on a PC. Not to mention, that alot of the atari games have been remade at least in some sense or another. How many different asteroid or asteroid-like games are out there? Besides, I'd be more inclined to purchase one of these if it had the ability to accept other console game cartridges (i.e. nintendo, sega) which could be downloaded and saved to a memory card on the device.

I'm sure better looks would help launching his product.
Everyone has his own sets of talents and this guy is a genious,i could never do what he does (electronics).
I'm just saying, as an experienced product designer, it would be possible to make it look a lot better also from an ergonomical point of view than what it is now.
You cant deny the fact that a generally good looking product will sell better than the same product with a less attractive look.
Same thing with marketing. Look at the Iphone, its actually a so-so product (dont flame me,its an opinion like another...but if it were good, people wouldnt be hacking it).

I have a bunch of 2600 games that were burned/written (don't know the proper verb) to eeproms years ago along with special adapter to plug them into the 2600 so back in the 80's it was certainly possible to fit the games on a 1x.5 in chip. Of course what makes Ben's mod so cool is that it uses the original cart's

I think that if he made a 'cartridge bay' in the center back of the unit where the cartridge dropped in from the top it would fit right between your left and right fingers as your hands wrapped around the 'wings' on either side. This would make this unit more compact and better balanced.

It's a bit of a visual blight on an otherwise smart looking mod, but the idea behind it I think makes up for it.
