@Pope John Peeps II: LOL, i make a lot of international calls and also travel internationally where I have Wireless access. I would love a VOIP client that i could use natively on the iphone through the wireless connection. That would make my iPhone so much more valuable. I would save so much $$$$$$$$$$$ :)

They claim this product is compatible with the touch. Problem is that it operates on the A2DP profile, which is a one-way stream for audio.

Any bluetooth gurus know how tough it would be to change the profile to HFP to allow calls?

Curiosity, how is the quality of a recording on line in? I googled and got some AMR files I assume they're apple files so I can't use it but thats besides the point. Could it be used to record decent quality line in audio or its mostly used for voice only?

It does seem a bit pointless for the iPhone, but with the Touch starting at $299 (with no carrier contract) and wireless getting more and more ubiquitous, this could be a very useful no-monthly-plan phone option as soon as there's a voip web app.

Still seems like Apple should have included an internal Mic.

What a great idea, well done!:)

One thing that would be really useful after this if you want to, would be a bluetooth mod. If you had a bluetooth node, you wouldnt need a microphone as you could pair it with a bluetooth Mcrophone/earphones - even with a little software hacking even pair it with an HSDPA mobile phone! (Now I am really dreaming!)
