Without competition, they're restnig on their laurels (aka, doing fuckall and charging just as much for it). If you really like Intel, you should be rooting for Phenom to be as beastly as the A64 was; that's the only way that Intel is going to keep firing on all cylinders.

They've already underclocked some of their chips (in comparison to what they could be running with 100% stability) due to lack of competition. These are dark days.

They aint, Intel made a tactical decision to wait a while to release this new stuff, so they can sell off current stock, wait for manufacturing prices to drop etc, and wait to see what happens with the competition.

There was collusion here between petrol stations, they kept their prices artificially high, and agreed with each other that no one should lower their prices below a certain point.
