On the debate of passengers...do you not think the driver will be distracted with this on and glance over to it. No matter what you say about safety laws and video in front not working well the car is in gear is untrue. Many have found ways to get around this and from what I understand Kenwood does not have this feature. Just another way to make our roads even more unsafe. Sorry but when states and cities have laws against using a cell phone or text messages...this crap should be banned and the those making it should be sued with any accidents that hurt or kill someone when its involved.

blueydbabydol

For those new to those whole, reading and not just looking at pretty pictures thing, they used the Kenwood since it was already setup to receive captioning from DVDs. The idea is aimed at stationary use for live broadcast. Most in-dash car audio head units, will not display moving anything on the screen while the car is in motion due to local laws. This is a very big thing since in the future emergency info could be sent out over the screen to deaf and hard of hearing so that they know what to do.

Technogen

@electrikecho:

FYI:

1. I'm hearing impaired
2. I read news online
3. I don't read newspapers unless I'm bored in the breakroom at work
4. I drive a car
5. I have an in dash dvd player in my car that can play movies with subtitles
6. I don't watch movies while I'm driving
7. I listen to music on my radio
8. I don't listen to talk-radio because its too difficult to follow what they are saying
9. I wish there was a close captioning device that would allow me to "listen" to news radio and stuff like Howard Stern.
10. If said device existed, I am not dumb enough to read it while I'm driving

I hope you get my point douchebag. Thanks Giz for posting this!!! This technology will really make my life easier and for many people like me. Have any of you people heard about having passengers in your car?? Maybe they would like to "read" the radio while riding??? gosh

MisterGummy
