@IrisMR: Actually your hips and buttocks are the strongest parts of your weight carrying body. As humans, we're designed for long-distance walking and our butt muscles are the strongest things we have.

A fully packed camping backpack can put 40 or 50 pounds of extra pressure on your hips, but as long as it's distributed properly, it's easy to carry.

This weight is nothing at all.
