How fast would it cook the burger? A good burger should be cooked on relatively high heat to carmelize the sugars in the meat & seal in the juices. If it could cook a good burger, it would overcook one even on days when I don't hit traffic & get home in under 30 minutes.

I agree with the folks who fear it'll fall off and hit another car. Try explaining that to your insurance carrier.

I've heard about the cooking on the engine idea too. I think someone wrote a book about it.

Yep- "Manifold Destiny", it's on Amazon.

rsquared

Meanwhile, we mourn all the depressed superstars in Hollywood. Sucks to be hot and famous. And rich.

Question of the day: Why can't people who have decided to kill themselves do ONE unselfish thing during the process and take out someone truly evil (eg. local gang members, drug dealers, pedophiles, politicians) prior to offing themselves. I'm sure a little research would yield up some appropriate names. Heck, it could end up giving them a reason to live after all (up until the point they got executed in Texas for being a vigilante murderer, but at least they'd have tons of supporters).

banmojo

I haven't seen this product yet, but I know a person that cooks while he commutes. (not homer simpson)

He takes veggies, meats, and juices, wraps it all up in tin foil, and leaves it sitting on top of his engine block. 45 minutes driving home, and when you get there, you have an awesome stir-fry style meal.

It works great, recycles energy, and it is also awesome for road trips. In fact, I think there's an instructable about this idea. (no funky exhaust hanger needed)

tek_nic

As someone who used to cook hot pockets on the manifold of my Jeep while we were out 4-wheelin', I can appreciate not wanting to waste engine heat...

I'm willing to bet some engineer types will get here in a minute and berate it on flow, which could actually lead to less efficiency in the engine...

OENOPHILE
