@Aegis2k:
I'm thinking about buying this frame, because I like the look of it, and
most of what I read. Question is, will it display photos in random order
(as opposed to Kodak frames that start from the beginning every time you
turn it on, and play the same photos in the same order every time)? I see
Sony mentions a "random" view mode in the brochure, but it's not clear if
that means displaying the photos in random order, or just using all the
different view modes (clock view, calendar view, multi-image view, fade,
wipe, etc.) in random order. Appreciate advice from anyone who has used the
frame and can verify this. Thanks!

the frame is nice, except for one missing feature: IT DOESNT DISPLAY PHOTOS!!!!!!! Using a mac and the iphoto export command, the resulting JPGs would not show up and give an error. I proceeded to use Photoshop's Export to JPG command, and again: nada. To make the pictures work, I had to create a Photoshop Custom Action that saved the images as BMP, closed them, reopened them and Save As JPG Baseline Standard... ANY OTHER setting would not work... I hope grandme remembers the steps to put pictures in... Oh, sad part? My Digicam is a SONY AS WELL!!!!!!!!

Aegis2k

I bought one this weekend and I can confirm that the logo can be turned off puttin it completly out of site. Compared to the Phillips, there is no comparison. The Sony blows it away. The finish is nicer, the transition and viewing choices are far better and the picture quality is not even in the same league. The other cool feature that I love is that in turning it from landscape to portrait your pictures and transitions turn as well adding versitility for a cubicle type office (close up viewing) as well as a bookshelf (viewing from up to 10 feet away).

cvguild

Comment on Sony's Photo Frames: S-Frame DPF-V900, DPF-V700 and DPF-D70 I was all ready to buy one of these...until reading these comments re
the Sony logo
Now it sticks out like a sore thumb!

Maybe if it lit up and you could disable it it wouldn't be so bad.

Think I'll pass now

I starting to think its not fine on anything except the back of the device for a repair person to look at. We are a culture that pays for something that we then own 100% fair and square but we sort of now accepted garish advertising like logos stuck on these things. I noticed the ipod does have a logo, but its far less obtrusive. I'm starting to dislike products that go much further than this. The iMac (and the laptops) have that Apple logo huge. When I think about it our whole culture is based on being shills for large companies who could give a damn, people walking around with T-shirts advertising products, cars with dealership advertising stuck on the trunk etc. What the heck is wrong with us?

ZitosGhost
