That being said, the longest i would go without sex for a 50 inch tv is a week.

For one, I already have one, and 2, no amount of tv can compete with 1 great sex session.

At this point in my life, if you go retroactively, I qualify for the 3000-inch TV. Which is fine by me. Total bullshit though. Just think it through:

1) Any MAN (gay, straight, or bi) is NOT giving up SEX easily if he has already had it. It would depend on the man, but the price would be very high. Till you get to the 80 and 150 inch models, you are not even breaking 10K. This represents a good portion of the men.

2) Virgins may not give up even the POSSIBILITY of getting it. That will just come down to luck. If they continue being a virgin, they get the TV. If they have a chance to stick into something warm, I think the TV is going bye bye. He is NOT telling the chick to wait until he gets his TV. Maybe if he was 10 days away from the 150 inch.... Probably not too many of these guys around. They tend to disappear fast.

3) Only men that have "given up" on getting sex would be willing to *continue* giving it up. That's like a free TV. Now here is probably the greatest percentage of men. Those that cannot escape their virginity, and those that are just waiting for the sweet release of death - married.

The scores? Total Bullshit as well. In so far as they are not really giving anything up.

The highest score is 24 months for a 150 incher which makes perfect sense. It just does not represent any sacrifice whatsoever. So it is meaningless in the context of the poll. These guys already KNOW they are getting a TV NO MATTER WHAT. So why would they choose anything less then the best?

Now the guys who would go 30 days to get a 25 INCH TV are obviously stupid or are not even real men. They also represent the 2nd HIGHEST score. I think people were just fooling around selecting this, or they WOULD have selected 0 months for 0 inches instead. So it is meaningless data.

The rest is most likely bullshit too. Here's why.

Even if you are giving up "hope", you must have already been hopeful.

If a man was getting it, even once every other month he is not going to pass up the chance for anything LESS than ABOVE AVERAGE. I think the average right now is at least 40 inches. I have had a 40 inch tube TV for years.

So the men who might actually be suffering, which is the real point of the poll, would have to do so for more then 6 months to get enough value for their suffering.

The magazine says half of all men surveyed were in the 6 month range.

Gizmodo says about a 1/10th of all men.

wow this topic really brought the commenters out of the woodwork.

anyway, I'm abstaining (from voting that is) because in the real world its possible to have both (though probably not the ones in the pictures).

But, if I had to choose, I would have wanted to pick a 9 month option because of my ultra-potent sperm - basically as soon as I knew my wife was prego again I wouldn't really want to go near there for awhile since, physiologically, there is no need (ie it's not possible to make her "more" pregnant) and before you call me an asshole, realize that for some women being pregnant can drive away the hormones responsible for sex-drive, so it is a mutual win.

Hmm this is like the reverse of prostitution. I'm thinking all the people that are saying no way are probably virgins. Those that have been well initiated for many years realize that you can give it up for a while if you want or have to. I for one voted for the 150" model because damn it if you're going to go without you might as well go for the best. Besides the 150" model has got to be worth close to $100,000. I am a true nerd! I work doing technical support for 2 of the biggest communication companies in North America, I own 2 xbox 360's and 2 halo 3's just so I can play 4 player co op in my house with friends. and I have multiple LCD TV's to be able to do so! As much as I would love another TV, I already get pissed off during that bloody period (I'm married(she bought me most of my gadgets, i love my sugar mama))! sex?....HA!!!...I'm married with a 2 year old...sex is a long forgotten act. Since I have not had sex more than 3 times in almost three years (no sex after conception)..I sure as hell would give it up for the rest of my life for that 150in TV....hell I wont ever have sex again anyway so why not get a TV for it?

MMMMM, this wouldn't be a problem for the stereotype of a geek.

I'd go for the 2 years option, my gf and myself agreed that we ain't gonna have sex till we get married, and that's gonna happen till like, 6 or 7 years more (i'm 22 btw), so getting the 150-inch tv would be a breeze for me, xD
