How can Android be dead, when it isn't even out yet and noone knows much about it?

Android has the potential to upset Windows Mobile, especially if they do it right. Firstly they should make Android compatible with existing Windows Mobile devices instead of creating entirely new hardware platform (the Open Handset Alliance manufacturers already make Windows Mobile phones). It is just software engineering at this point, so much cheaper. Secondly, make it free to download, easy to install and get Open Handset Alliance service providers (like T-Mobile) to have it preinstalled on their phones. Then, once people are happy using Android as a mobile phone OS/GUI, make Android specific hardware.

Looking at the Open Handset Alliance, there are some pretty interesting members.

why can't people see that android is a good thing. great, or at least, better than most firmware on devices with low end specs. that can change the scope of mobile usage. a RAZR with firmware worth a damn... it just makes sense.
