@szrimaging: he also seems to think iPods are only capable of playing DRM'd music purchased from the iTunes music store for some reason. iPods existed well before the store did. the *many* people that don't use the store and never will and happen to own an iPod can load music from as many computers as they want.

if you are going to be spewing inane rhetoric it at least helps to have even the most basic of facts reviewed. but then idiocy and rhetoric generally go hand in hand.

@richard8a: Buying the CD doesn't break the annoyances of DRM. The DRM has started to infringe on my right to hook up an Iphone/Ipod to the two different Mac computers I own. The one iPod, one computer characteristic of an iPod/iPhone have limited the uses for these devices. What's the purpose of buying successive devices if they are just becoming more and more crippled?

The nano isn't really a middle man device. The Nike+ accessory is generally the add-on, not the real product that you have to buy an iPod to get to. It's an accessory people.

Oh, it does make the iPod unnecessary, but it seems to be cutting out the best parts of the system: music/PowerSong, the voice feedback...

If I wanted Nike+ without the features that came from the iPod, I'd rather get a cheap pedometer.

@richard8a: The artist has a choice when they sign the damn contract. No one is being strong-armed here, except the end user. I know a few people that make their living through music, none embrace DRM or any kind. That being said, I do only buy CDs, mainly for archival reasons.

I can't believe people are still crying about this. If you don't like it, go buy the CD. The idea is to stop stealing music. As a musician, I side with them on the fact they deserve to get paid. Sure, the record labels SUCK, but you shouldn't hold that against the artist, who often has no choice but to be with a label.

I have not gotten my new nano (3G) to work with the Nike kit yet. My 1G and my wife's 2G work fine. The Nike+ kit was the ONLY reason for buying a nano now, as the nicer weather keeps teasing us, I'm getting more antsy about this thing not working.
