When smoking was originally banned in bars here, there was a loophole that allowed private clubs to let their members smoke indoors, mostly to let Veterans die slowly with pleasure. That changed a year or so after many pubs and clubs went "private".
Oh ya... another strange "loophole" just surfaced, but to do with parking tickets. Province of Ontario found that, who knew, there was no "statute of limitations" on unpaid tickets and fines. Literally millions of drivers have been receiving "you owe us" notices for infractions from years ago. I received a few dated 1982 and 1983.
Makes me almost want to start smoking again.

here in the land of 10,000 taxes (mn), they found a loophole in the state-wide smoking ban, there was a provision put in to protect actors from not being in compliance during plays that smoking was written into the script, so some enterprising bar owners have started "theater night", you print up some playbills, post them, and make everyone an "actor" when they come in the door
